In 2013 RS was approached by one of its telematics partners to design an operational programme plan to rapidly install over 500 devices to vehicles in the field and at anti social hours. Keeping the client’s fleet on the road with minimal disruption was vital, as was getting the fleet telematically enabled in a short space of time.
Through the deployment design phase we were able to identify several ‘convergence instances’ where multiple vehicles were at a site at the same time, presenting an opportunity to put together a dedicated engineer team to fit the majority of vehicles over 4 weekends - no working day downtime.
When Max Charles was 18, to reduce his insurance premium he chose a car insurance policy that included the installation of a telematics device from one of our partners: RS installed the device. Max did not realise that the device had built in GPS location technology that could alert the emergency services in the event of an accident and direct them to the scene. More importantly he did not ever think that the box could save his life.
