We are proud to have worked on police vehicle conversions for Warwickshire and West Mercia police. This continues our 24-year working relationship supporting the UK emergency services providing general purpose conversions to more specialist vehicles. The client required police conversions for 68 Vauxhall Astras.
Listening to our customers has been key to our success in this sector. From the initial requirement gathering meeting through to the build, our team set to understand the needs of the client. We worked with the customer to ensure the conversion was completed to their exact specification. This included providing additional expertise and consultancy to help solve the customer’s problems.
The solution provided resulted in quicker turnaround times for the client. Police cars tend to be heavy due to the amount of specialist kit loaded on the vehicle. Our team of engineers worked with the police force to help them make the vehicles lighter.
We are the ideal partner for police forces in the UK because of our relationships with our supply chain. We establish good links with OEMs and manufacturers, allowing us to receive regular training on products. This level of communication allows us to give suppliers feedback for future product improvements and results in us gaining early access to new product developments.
Capacity was not an issue for us, as we utilised our Coleshill HQ workshop for this project. The team of in-house engineers worked hand in hand with our scheduling department, keeping the customer informed at every stage. This resulted in positive customer experience and quick turnaround time.
Dave Newbold, Head of Transport services at Warwickshire Police said “RS Connect are a local company who, through a competitive tender process, won a contract to deliver a role conversion solution for 68 of our new fleet vehicles. The company have been a pleasure to work with, with nothing being too much trouble. The technical requirements of the conversions were agreed upon and implemented to a high standard, and all of the vehicles were delivered ahead of schedule. ”
